Roar!!!

I asked the three little ones what they wanted to study for the next month, and the unanimous choice was dinosaurs! We already had dinosaur books and puzzles, but the internet gave us enough lessons to do for many, many weeks. We have started a big dino mural and lapbook, we are doing dino math, dino language lessons, dino handwriting......and more! If you want to see some amazing dino pages, go to http://www.learningpage.com/ Beware - you will be making an emergency trip to Walmart for more printer ink :)

We also decided this week to coop our science lessons with another family (because someone nameless was not doing a great job teaching science by herself). We will alternate homes on Friday afternoons and do dinosaur science together. Thank you Blythe family!!! Our other homeschool coop starts this week, and I am so excited - I will be teaching sign language to a sweet group of middle schoolers. I think we are really getting back into the "schooling groove" after the holidays. Why does it always take 3 weeks to recover from 2? lol!

The knitting is going well, but I am still ripping out more than I am keeping :) Thank you Niki (Rural Writings) for the wonderful shawl pattern! I had one almost finished and then made a BIG boo-boo. I ripped it completely out and have started again. I have decided that I am learning to knit the hard way, but I'm learning.
The big, terrific, exciting news around our house this week was the purchase of the new swingset, fort, playground thing-y that will soon take up a big hunk of our barren backyard. We bought it at Sams, and it really will be a wonderful place for the little ones to play. Mason keeps going out to the garage just to look at the boxes and the slide :) Now if we can just bribe several sweet, sweet people to come over and help us put it together! Any takers?

Have a blessed week!

Maybe Michael can come up this weekend and build the playset.

A dinosaur study sounds great. I'm sure the 3 M's will love it. Give them hugs and kisses from Aunt Sandra. :-)

Mary, that dinosaur study looks like such fun. Colton & I are studying Native Americans and are having such fun making models of their dwelling and learning their customs. Such fun!

Thank you so much for thinking of me with a care package, and for including a template. Honestly, I don't know how to express my heart enough but to say that it has blessed me so much.

Hope you'll share your shawl with us soon.

Have fun with that playset! Sounds like you need to call all the troups home again for that one. I can hardly wait to see the pictures of those happy faces when it finally gets assembled.

Hugs,
Lea

Mom,
Dan is sitting next to me and he decided that you guys can't be learning about dinosaurs if he's not there, because he is in fact the Dinosaur King :)! Love you guys! Give the kids a hug for me! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY again!
