Well, the bug has hit our house. Fortunately, it is not the flu bug - it is the KNITTING bug! I now know that I love, love, love to knit. Yesterday I went to my favorite thrift store and found 3 wonderful knitting books for a dollar each. The Family Album of Knits has such beautiful pictures.
I think the thing I love most about knitting is that I can sit with my family and interact with them while I create something. Even though my sewing machine is close to the living room, I can only listen to the "action" while I quilt. The sad thing is that I now stand in the yarn aisles at Joanns and drool :)
Here are some pictures from my new books. I can't wait to start on the tea cozy - too cute. I have also included an updated picture of my shawl. Maybe I'll have it finished by the weekend. Now I am off to dinosaur land and homeschooling fun!
Have a wonderful week sweet friends!

I am so happy that its the knitting bug ... my heart sort of sank when I first read the title!
Do you know I spent an hour pouring over yarns at Hobby Lobby last week? ... And I don't even knit. But I had to touch them all and take in all the textures and colors. What fun!

I was reading the Message version of Proverbs 31 this morning and it made me think of you for a lot of reasons, but since this line goes with your post I thought I would put it in here :) "...She shops around for the best yarns and cottons, and enjoys knitting and sewing." Miss you, Mom! Hope you're having a great afternoon! I'll give you a call in just a little while and see what the crew is up to today :)!
I am so jealous! I tried knitting and it just wasn't my thing. I bought a whole bag of beautiful yarn too and it is in my closet. I LOVE that tea cozy! Painting seems to be my thing and I guess I will stick to it :-)
It feels good to get back into the swing of things and catch up on my favorite families activities!
I would love to know how to knit. At this time, I am tying to learn how to crochet. I haven't had alot of time to practice but look forward to learning how. Maybe next I can learn to knit. I love the tea cozy. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Elizabeth
